Fantastic Joystick

This is actually the first joystick I've bought and love it. I've played on many joysticks, mainly from my mates but I got to say this is the best one for me.

excellent stick!

Ordered this and it arrived at 8.30 am the day after. Build quality is amazing, you cant go wrong with Hori base/pcb along with Sanwa stick and buttons.

The Hori Real Arcade Pro VX range of joysticks are designed to give a true replication of the arcade experience. Using authentic Sanwa Denshi components that are found in arcade machines, these premium quality joysticks are designed for accuracy, comfort and precision responses. The joystick comes with Turbo fire functions for each of the buttons which can be set independantly of each other, as well as an extra long cable (with it's own storage compartment) for lag-free inputs which are vital at a competitive level. However, these are only extras that support the true purpose of this joystick.

The V range of joysticks is designed to replicate the Vewlix arcade cabinets. This means that, alongside the original arcade components, the positioning of the buttons is exactly as they are on the arcade machine. These buttons in their specific locations allow for a more comfortable resting position, meaning your reactions will be better for longer.

The extra long body of the joystick gives you a stable platform, ensuring that the joystick stays in place throughout your whole game. At a weight of 2.2kg, this also increases the stability but also means that it can be used for extended periods on your lap without discomfort. The side "wings" also mean that it can be carried around from tournament to tournament with relative ease.

Hori has also taken into consideration the growing community for modding joysticks. Not only does it come with some of the best parts available on the market straight out of the box, the buttons all have quick disconnects for the wiring inside. This means that they can be changed easily if you want to replace parts or customise the joystick to make it unique to you. Excellent alternative to Mad Catz Fight Sticks

I previously owned a Mat Catz Tournament Fight Stick. Having sold it some time ago and then getting back into fighting games, I found myself in need of a new fight stick.

The Mad Catz sticks are good, but they were selling for grossly inflated prices everywhere I looked. This left me deciding to opt for an alternative. I chose the HORI Real Arcade Pro VX SA having read other reviews online.

In my opinion, this stick is easily on a par with the Mad Catz Tournament sticks. It uses real Sanwa arcade quality components, is well built, stylish and light. The stick and buttons are excellent with just the right level of feel and responsiveness.

I also prefer a couple of other features on this stick to the Mad Catz versions. Firstly, the Start button is on the face of the stick rather than tucked away at the back. This makes it easier to access while being sufficiently far from the other buttons to avoid accidental pressing during game play. Secondly, the compartment for stowing the (lengthy) USB cable is much larger than on the Mad Catz sticks. This makes storing the cable much easier. The stick also works on my Windows PC!

I suppose the only minor drawback is that the Stick is white and will show up dirt easier than other colours. Still, it’s not exactly hard to give it the occasional wipe clean if you need to.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this stick to anyone looking for a good quality product from a well known and respected manufacturer. It is an affordable alternative to the Mad Catz fight sticks and easily of equal quality.
