This Controller is FANTASTIC!
I got Gran turismo 5 the day it came out but hardly played it because it felt horrid using the normal PS3 pad. But after playing it with this contoller I can't stop playing it now.
It just feels sooooooo much better, smoother and faster than a normal pad.
I will be playing and enjoying GT5 a hell of alot more now thanks to this fantastic piece of hardware.
The service from GamingZap.com was also fantastic.
This was definitely money well spent...

As Fast As It Gets
The HKS is a very classy piece of kit and, unlike a lot of others, it performs as well as it looks. Build quality and performance are second to none right down to the gold plated USB connector at the end of the ample 3mtr lead. I have shown the HKS to a number of friends and the only concern they had was the angle of the 'steering wheel'. I personally found it perfect. Sensitivity of all buttons gives a smooth response and a real feeling of being in control. One word of caution tho, if like me you want to use it with NFS Shift 1, you cannot configure the brake and accelerator (X & O) to work as these. However GT5 and F1 CE work perfectly. Indeed in GT5 you have so many choices it can be tailored to everyones taste. Overall I would rate the HKS above any steering wheel or controller I have ever used. Add in GamingZap service and support and you have an unbeatable package.

The idea is to place you behind the wheel as you race down a track or conquer a galaxy. You'll feel the curves and each tug of excitement as you veer and turn at shockingly high speeds.
You may be comfortably sitting in front of your TV. With this controller, there's a fine line between reality and how you interact with what's on screen. The HKS Racing Controller features analog pressure acceleration and brake pedals - these full range pressure sensors allow real world control over gas and brake pedals, so you have the absolute control necessary to execute the advanced heel-toe racing technique for drifting. The light up numerical indicator displays your real-time pressure being applied to the accelerator and brake pedals. Dynamic digital readout incrementally displays pressure readout in every millisecond. The controller is wired to ensure that your inputs are completely lag free, giving you instant response time where every split second counts.
The hot-coal red Hipermax III replaces the analog joysticks with a thumb wheel on the left side and throttle and brake buttons on the right side. The wheel has center stripe to aid steering, and the precise inputs of the throttle and brake controls are registered in the digital readout in the center of the controller.

Great innovative product
I bought this controller mainly for use with Gran Turismo 5. I wanted something that would give me more accuracy and control than the standard PS3 pad, but without the huge expense and space requirements of a more expensive racing wheel. I would say that this product does a great job of bridging the gap.
The build quality is very good and the digital readouts on the pad add a nice touch. The thumb wheel is a great idea and really does give you a huge advantage in terms of accuracy when cornering. The gas and brake pedals give you a much increased degree of control over throttle and brake, which ultimately leads to a smoother driving style in Gran Turismo 5.
My only issue with the controller would probably be that it is wired. There are reasons for this, with wire allowing for a stronger vibration and less possibility of lag. The length of the wire is pretty good as well meaning you are not going to have to sit too close to the screen.
Overall this is an innovate product that performs its job to a high standard and I can highly recommend it. Also the service I received from Gaming Zap was great, very fast delivery indeed.
