Everything you need to know about 3DS

For those of you that haven’t been paying much attention to gaming news lately, the next big thing from Nintendo is going to be the 3DS, and it is going to be pretty big. Featuring a display capable of showing 3D, it is going to be the first console built around 3D on the market. While there have been a few concerns about whether it’ll affect the eyesight in young children or not, so far these claims have been disregarded.

With enough power to display impressive 3D graphics, the 3DS is definitely technologically very advanced. It comes with: Touch screen, embedded microphone, A/B/X/Y face buttons, + Control Pad, L/R buttons, Start and Select buttons, “Slide Pad” that allows 360-degree analog input, one inner camera, two outer cameras, motion sensor and a gyro sensor. It also has a 3D Depth Slider to adjust level of 3D effect (can be scaled back or turned off completely depending on the preference of the user), the telescoping stylus is approximately 4 inches when fully extended.

Not only does it have the physical capabilities, the range of software currently being developed for it is equally impressive.  With a collection of over 20 impressive games announced including a 3D Metal Gear Solid game, Resident Evil and several classic titles such as Ocarina of Time being remade for 3D, it is almost impossible to see the 3DS failing at this point. That and the fact that Nintendo has had a stranglehold on the portable console market for years now, meaning that they won’t let this console die easily.
